I played the first version of the Sims and liked it, but there were little things that always bothered me about it, like constantly having to make the sims go to the bathroom, and how it took them forever to walk around each other, how difficult it was to get them to talk to each other and date, etc., so I put off buying The Sims 2 until I got a new computer recently.
Well, I have to say I am really loving this game and have fallen in love with it all over again. I actually bought this title and all the other expansion packs at once (through Seasons) and installed them altogether. The experience is really great! The graphics are much better, I love the way you can manipulate the camera angles, and the sims are now a little smarter about what they do autonomously, so if I have a large family to play, I can concentrate on one sim for a while and not have to worry about what the others are doing.
The downtown area in the Nightlife section is really cool, and it takes less time to order and receive food now. I like the new date scoring system, and the new aspirations give a little sense of urgency to the game, which I enjoy. You now have specific goals to work toward with each sim, and there’s incentive to reach the goals because you know your sim will eventually die. Oh, and did I mention that there’s vampires now?
Love, love, love what they’ve done to this game!

The Sims 2 is a brench mark for the best interactive game you could get. Other then being online. It a trend of life and does teach some value for teens how to take care of themselves. It very complex to learn and not easy to get to know. I suggested getting the guide book for it, once you get to know it a little. I had problems installing “Fun Stuff” packs and other download. But my daughter had no problems playing the base and Sims 2 Pets on the PC. If you want to get a sample before playing the PC version. Get a DS version of Sims 2 and Sims 2 Pets and New MySims coming out.
Bit of warning. better have a very large hard drive and above average video card. I have base game and four expansion packs and three “fun stuff” added n packs. Also the download could fill your hard drive up fast. Deluxe comes with a built in expansion “Night Life” so you have a pack to start with. Also patch your games and save the files folder regularly (located in your My Document Folder).

Great fun! Loads of options to choose from whether it’s creating a Sim or creating a dream home. Just be sure you have plenty of time to play because hours will slip by like minutes!

I love this game. I used to have the Sims 1 but this is really a step ahead. The graphics are much better, and you can make your Sims look really detailed. I also love how close you can get into the Sims world- it’s like your actually there! Also, this version of the Sims comes with the Nightlife expansion. With the Nightlife expansion, you can go out to all the restaurants, parks, shops, and so much more! Even without that expansion, the Sims 2 is totally fun. Unlike in Sims 1, your Sims can have generations of their own, pass on DNA, and eventually die.If you are new to the Sims 2 like me, I would start with the Sims 2 Deluxe.

I was never really into video games that much until I got Sims 2. Now I am addicted to it. I love this game. I love that you can create your own houses and design your own Sims. I never heard of this “Sims” game before my best friend bought it for me and now we have daily conversations about what our Sims are doing. The creators of this game are brillant. I go home from work and play this game for hours. Some of the Stuff packs are stupid especially “celebrations” because you can only invite 2 guests over and they don’t really give give you a lot of things but the Nightlife is a must have expansion pack but I wish they had more cars to choose from. I recently ordered other expansion packs and I am waiting for them to arrive. But overall I would highly recommend this game to anyone (over 10 yrs of age–because of the woohoo that might be offensive to some parents), but this game is definitely a must have. I tried looking for other PC games that had as high of a rating as Sims but couldn’t find one. Happy Simming.

This is one great value. It gives you two games for the price of one. The Sims is an addicting game that will consume hours of your time. But it is fun and always interesting what you can do with them. And you can also download content to add onto the game, extra careers, skins, items. Its amazing what you can do with this game. A game that will never get old and you will come back to at least once a month to play.

I had the sims and it was pretty fun. But it got old quickly and soon there were no more things to do with it. There were several things that I didn’t like: no marriage, no aging, bad zoomimg, bad camera navigation, and honestly no real reason to stay with your sims and help them through life. It was all too simple, and not like real life at all.
Then along comes the sims 2! Man, this is SO MUCH BETTER! And especially the deluxe edition, that comes with the nightlife expansion, so that you can go downtown and have a rockin’ night out! Nightlife comes with tons of new clothes, and you can but cars to go downtown! Besides, with this expansion you can go on dates that have rating, from Horrible to Dream Date!
In the sims 2, sims have life aspirations (Pleasure, Family, Romance, Fortune, Knowledge, Popularity) and wants and fears. Wants and fears vary depending on the life aspiration. If you fulfill wants, sims will get more aspiration points and be happier. If their fears are realized, then they loose aspiration points and get sad. There’s long-term and short-term relationships, and teenagers can go steady. There’s a difference between crush and love. Adults and elders can marry. There’s six ages that sims go through: baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult, and elder.
I can go on and on. But it’s better for you to get this game and experience the rest for yourself!

This is the best game I have EVER played. I love being able to control somebody else’s life. Since it has been my lifelong goal to become an architect, I like being able to design your own home. The only con is that it takes awhile to get used to, but that isn’t big enough to demote it a star. Buy this game, its worth the dough

I love TS2, but I do NOT love what EA has chosen as their copy protection. I purchased a new computer to be able to Sim in TS2 (I’d been Simming in TS1 for five years) unaware that Sony’s malware, SecuROM, is the copy protection. My new pc will not burn to disc. Not all burning to disc is piracy, so what makes Sony Corporation think they can develop and market malicious software which disables emulation software/hardware and/or Anti-virus programs (other computer components are reported to have been affected also)? I’m extremely upset. I wanted all of the TS2 expansion packs, but now I won’t be purchasing any more until EA finds a different method to copy protect their software without damaging their customer’s computers.
Sony’s malware SecuROM is invasive and damaging to computers. SecuROM attaches its components to the hard drive and eludes detection. It is also very difficult to remove all of the components. Avoid any product which implements SecuROM as its copy protection!

I love the Sims 2, but I lost one of my original disks. While I highly recommend this game (it is a blast), make sure that your computer is DVD compatible before ordering this DVD-Rom. They have it Cd-Rom, but buyer beware. Don’t be like me, and get the copy in the mail only to find out you ordered the wrong thing.
